Landscape Winner - $500 prize
Robyn Adams for Waratah
Artist statement
The variety of scenic delights in the Great Western Tiers is extraordinary.
On this occasion I have given the foreground detail to the blooming Waratah and allowed the escarpment to fall away as a reflection of what it's like to stand on the ground at Devils Gullet.
I can wander around for hours and hours, watching the weather and the light.
People Winner - $500 prize
Katie MacLaren for Forest Defender
Artist statement
The forests of Quamby Bluff are not only beautiful and chockful of intrinsic value – they are also habitat for threatened species such as the Tasmanian wedge-tailed eagle, eastern quoll and Tasmanian devil, which is the study subject of pictured researcher, Chelsea Hummer.
During Chelsea’s time in Tasmania, she was ecstatic to find dens of her beloved and endangered Tasmanian devil in the wild. Unfortunately, these dens were found inside an area scheduled for logging on the face of Quamby Bluff. Chelsea’s passion and enthusiasm for the protection of the beautiful and rare has inspired me to fight to protect another disappearing subject–native forests.
Should this picture win, I will donate the proceeds to forest defenders working towards the protection and permanent removal from the logging schedule of the forests of Quamby Bluff
Multimedia Winner - $500 prize

Julianne Campbell for Message From The Mount
Artist statement
An unedited shot - this smoke heart emerged from the flames as Quamby Bluff was set alight after being clear-felled by Sustainable Timbers Tasmania. The fire then escaped into the World Heritage Buffer zone.
A site of great importance to our First Nations people, is this a message from the mount?
Hands off Quamby.

Joy Kachina for Quamby Bluff Sunrise
Artist statement
Living in Deloraine, I often drive out to Meander pre dawn to see what the sunrise will bring.
This particular morning the early morning mist backlit by the rising sun next to Quamby Bluff took my breath away. The colours and light were magnificent and I couldn't believe I had this view all to myself.
