Deloraine wins silver at tourism awards

Newcomer Deloraine named Australia’s second best Small Tourism Town

Australia’s Top Tourism Town Awards took place this week at Parliament House in Canberra.

The awards showcase the cream of Australia’s visitor experiences homegrown in regional towns across the nation, and celebrates the commitment of local communities working together to drive excellence in tourism.

After winning gold in Tasmania, Deloraine, a tourism award newbie, took second place in the Australian Top Small Town category. This is an outstanding result, and a wonderful opportunity for us to share what makes Meander Valley so special with visitors from around the world.

Huge congratulations to Deloraine on this achievement and well done to Devonport for placing second in the Top Tourism Town category. Our congrats also go to Cat Davidson from Inala Nature Tours who was named Australia’s Best Tour Guide.

The Great Western Tiers Tourism Association and Meander Valley community worked hard to develop Deloraine’s entry, and we’re incredibly happy with the result and the momentum it’s creating for our region.

Tassie might be small, but we are mighty, and we’re proud to stand centre stage as we celebrate tourism excellence across Australia.
